Cinque Terre Elopement

Sometimes things just happen by coincidence and we are super happy that this coincidence allowed us to photograph this wonderful adventurous elopement in Cinque Terre.

Cinque Terre as a destination for elopement

When Amy and Kelly contacted us about their wedding we thought they got the date wrong. About 3 weeks before their elopement in Italy they were looking for the photographer.

From the first video call, we loved Amy and Kelly and decided we were going to be part of their intimate wedding in Liguria.

Amy and Kelly had won us over and even though with only 3 weeks to organize everything we wanted to create an unforgettable experience for them. The first thing to know is that, not knowing Italy well, they trusted us to choose the location, with a couple of questions we understood that they wanted something unique romantic and with typically Italian scenarios.
We made two proposals knowing from the beginning that the proposal of the elopement to the Cinque Terre would win them over.

The couple live in Denver, Colorado and they told us they had never been on the ocean together and that it would be the first time they would see the sea together and so it couldn’t be more perfect. For two lovers of adventures we were ready to organize this elopement in Liguria among the Cinque Terre villages.

What Cinque Terre is?

The Cinque Terre is a coastal area within Liguria, in the northwest of Italy. It lies in the west of La Spezia Province, and comprises five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Cinque Terre area is a popular tourist destination. Over the centuries, people have built terraces on the rugged, steep landscape right up to the cliffs that overlook the Ligurian Sea. Paths, trains, and boats connect the villages as cars can only reach them with great difficulty from the outside via narrow and precarious mountain roads.

Boat adventurous session for Amy & Kelly Cinque Terre elopement

It was a Wednesday in September, exactly 8 September, and when we arrived at Cinque Terre to meet Amy & Kelly.

Everything had been organized to enjoy these wonderful sceneries. Initially we took the train because it could be said that it is almost the only way to get to these five villages as arriving by car is almost impossible.
After arriving in Monterosso we took a walk through the alleys, and being in the middle of the season we saw many tourists.
Around five o’clock our typical wooden boat was waiting for us to be able to do the whole tour of the Cinque Terre.
So it was a completely personalized tour stopping where we thought best and Amy and Kelly were able to fully enjoy this day despite the many tourists.
The moment of sunset in the middle of the sea was breathtaking.

Kelly and Amy who don’t like to be photographed thanked us because for them it was a super relaxed stress free day just like they always wanted.

We leave you here a selection of the images of the Cinque Terre elopement of the boat.
